Dear Patients,

After almost 40 years of practicing medicine, it is with great difficulty that I write to announce the closing of my practice. My last day at Huron Valley OBGYN will be August 14, 2026.

I know this may seem abrupt or come as a surprise. However, it is something I have been considering for several years. The good news is that I am not retiring from medicine entirely. I will continue to moonlight at Huron Valley Sinai Hospital and hope to see many of you around The Harris Birthing Center.

As of August 14, 2026, I will stop seeing patients in the office. You may choose any physician you wish to transfer your records to. I am referring patients to Metro OBGYN, DMC OBGYN and Walnut Lake OBGYN. When trying to narrow it down to one specific doctor or group, I simply could not — every physician in these practices has my utmost respect and my complete confidence. I would trust any of them with the care of my own daughters.

All of these offices are aware that my practice is closing and that I will be referring patients to them. However, I am unsure which insurance plans each physician accepts. You can find an in-network OBGYN by:

• Calling the number on the back of your insurance card and requesting OBGYNs in your area

• Contacting Huron Valley Sinai Hospital and asking for a physician referral

• Visiting www.dmc.org and clicking “Find a Doctor”

Continuity of your care is extremely important to both me and my staff. We will do everything we can to make your transition to a new physician as smooth and stress-free as possible.

We will gladly copy your medical records, free of charge, and have them ready for pickup before the office closes permanently in August. As of August 15th, records will no longer be in our possession. We will be transferring them to a medical records storage facility. If you want your records from us before we close the office, we must receive your request by August 1st in order to process them.  In order for us to prepare your records, you will need to complete a medical records release authorization form. You may do this in one of the following ways:

• Complete a release form at your new physician’s office

• Stop by our office to fill out the form

• Visit www.huronvalleyobgyn.com and complete the records release form available on the website

The office will remain opened until August 31st for any questions you may have or to pick up records that were requested. After that, you will be able to contact the record service to obtain your records. Please be aware that the record service may require a fee to copy or send your records. We will be using a company called Iron Mountain to store your medical records once the office closes. The phone number for that company is 1-800-934-3453. 

It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to care for you and your families over the years. Thank you for the trust you have placed in me. I will deeply miss being part of your lives and sharing in so many important moments.
